Big numbers / 100 / 30

~ ~

This past week has been all about the numbers, my blogging (or better to say the lack of it) has reached (finally) the first (big) milestone  -  100 posts! Although this is not such a big number when it comes to years of blogging but nonetheless I am happy about it. Hopefully I will be better in other 100 that are yet to come.

The other big number was my 30th birthday. Such a crazy number. I don't feel that old, so I guess it is true when they say "you are as old as old you feel". Having that in mind, I am still a child.
The big three-O was wonderfully celebrated with friends and family, gifts were received with great joy of course.

Thinking of aforementioned numbers and occasions that occurred, it got me thinking about life and celebration of little things in every day. Yes, celebrating our lives annually on that one special day should be a premise, but, as well all those (maybe sometimes insignificant) little things that make us smile through out the year  -  we should be happy and joyful about them too.
We need to find time to incorporate these little pleasures in our everyday lives. Make each day special and count. Enjoy the moment, make the most of life because we really don't know the number of our days so each is important and special.
After all it all comes to one thing and that is - celebration of life.

So enjoy the world around you, life itself and all those little magical things that make you smile. Fill your days with what you love and love what you have in each day.

I am happy to be living in these times of such technology and opportunities of communication. so I can "meet" so many wonderful people in this blogosphere and web-sphere in general. You are all a constant inspiration and a reason to endure sometimes impossibly busy schedules with one thought in mind "it will get better". Sometimes you inspire me in so many way I would like to quit my job and just read blogs all day and soak up all your magic like a little sponge. I know I am bad in whole this blogging thing, I should post more and put more time and me in this blog, and I hope in this following year I will.

As new years eve is time for writing new years resolutions and big plans, I think, this milestone date in my life and in a life of my blog is a perfect time to make some resolutions too.

Hope you are having a lovely week, or enjoying your vacations.

xoxo

The tale of the fashion blogger - inspiration

~ ~
I found this post about fashion blogging phenomenon written by Kim from Brunette blogging, and this sentence just stuck with me. Its so true. And kind of romantic.

.."girls all around the world were no longer writing “dear diary” but went outside with their Nikon or Canon". Or Olympus.

Do you remember those days when you were writing everything down (some of us still do)
in a most beautiful notebooks you could find? Special attention was put in choosing the right design of fore-mentioned notebook. Oooh, those were the days!

The old saying goes something like this - every age has its own. So while I most certanly did enjoy the diary writing hype at a younger age, I sure do love this new techno-virtual era of fashion blogging and looking up through camera lenses.

Snaping moments and memories with Instagram is one of many everyday joys.
Its such a great and fun app.
Loved it from the first sight. Wearing Zara wedges (wishing for ones from Thyskens theory).

Please allow me to introduce myself I'm a man of wealth and taste I've been around for a long, long year

~ ~

So, here I am, again, after almost a year of pause, starting over, yet again. Starting a(nother) fashion blog. Although I've been around for quite some time (fashion blogging wise of course) it still feels kind of strange and new for me. My now dead blog started as a hobby when I got unemployed, and unexpectedly became more than that. I discovered a wonderful world of fashion, photography and great, interesting people. I loved playing dress up since I was a kid; but never even dreamed I would be in fashion as an adult. So, it seems I discovered something about myself too. Even if my day job is not fashion related, expressing my style and love for fashion is very important to me. Long story short - I love clothes!

My blogging "career" started in 2004 and then the idea of posting photos of my outfits or anything similar didn't even crossed my mind. I was writing and expressing my inner world in (apparently not so) private diary. In 2008 I was introduced to a world of fashion blogging by a local daily news site, as they wrote a piece on (now) worldly renowned bloggers such as Klara, Jane, Miss Melbourne etc. At that time I have lost my job, and my days were open to whole new world of entertainment. So, I started to blog myself. My fashion blog would be 3 years old now, but G+ killed it. So, there you go - technology!

Starting a (new) blog is kind of weird. It feels like you are a new kid in school trying to get into a clique. I am not saying that people make me feel that way, but since fashion blogging is now so popular and not to mention competitive, a bit of a pressure is inevitable. To be honest, I am not here to compete or steal someones spotlight. I just want to share my love for fashion with the rest of the like-minded people. I hope you'll have me.

There is so much to do around here, I hope you will like what you read and see and help me grow through your opinions and advice. I have re-considered this so many times; analyzed and thought through so much and it took me a lot of time to agree with myself how am I going to do it.

So here it is. Not polished, not nearly ready and certainly not posh as many of blogs out there. But, I will try and get there.
