Love at first sight

~ ~
It has been a while since I have been taken by a shoe like I have been a second ago.
These Zara BLACK AND WHITE COMBINATION HEELS took my breath away instantly, and the only thing I could think was - I need to have them. And that could be a problem for another 3-4 months. I have been trying to execute this very intense "no shopping" challenge, due to my shopping addiction per se, due to some family budget restructurings. My heart aches. Although it will be months before I can even think of wearing them (weather issue) I am scared they won`t be available in my size when I will be able to acctually buy them.

I sound like a crazy person, I know.

Ain’t Laurent Without Yves

~ ~

While re-branding (if we can actually even use this term in this particular context) has worked wonders in many cases, when it comes to one of the most distinct fashion brands today (or ever for that matter), previously known YSL is now called Saint Laurent Paris. Although this is old news, many bloggers and other media have reported on this topic, I would like to mention this because I like the initiative behind the title "Ain’t Laurent Without Yves".

Whatever Hedi Slimane had in mind when he decided to take this step is essentially his "problem", but at the end of the day I would never risk that kind of a change with "my" already historically successful brand/name. Then again, who knows, maybe he knows something we don't and his decision could be of epic proportions for this renowned house. Time will tell.

"Ain’t Laurent Without Yves"

-this is one strong and so very true byword, that depicts the essence of the YSL brand and tells how much this brand has influenced the world of fashion, and history itself.

Hedi Slimane was 5 years old when Yves created his fashion brand.

I can not help but wonder, then, did he know how brilliant and successful he will become, and in the end, what will become of his name that represents his life's brilliance  and success.

Fit gear

~ ~

Staying fit and lean has always been kind of an sweet and sour experience. I have always been trainging something or dancing, but hated going to gym more than anything. Now, as I get older, staying in shape is getting more challenging in matters of time and will, and staying in lean shape is something I have to work for. I was always thin, but as I am getting older and of "that" age, fat is holding on more than ever.

When going to gym, or working out at home (current practice), dressing up was hardly ever on my list.
The most important thing is that my clothes fit properly, give the neccessary support, and don`t reveal too much (hence te support). Even though we all like to look our best in any occasion, in the gym I really love to go for comfortable than fashionable.

Simple and effective - Nike trainers and top, Lonsdale shorts

Talking about fitness fashion, yesterday I came across new H&M fitness collection that seemed quite nice.
I really like simple yet playful pieces, in pastel colors and elegant style.

Do you exercise? What do you wear? How much do you dress up for gym?

Is there fashion with so much snow?

~ ~

When snow is mentioned I always have a distinct, and very romanticized for that matter, notion of how a perfect snow conditions look like (me somewhere inside, looking it falling outside). I can`t help but wonder (such an obvious CB reference) isn`t this kind of an oxymoron - perfect snow conditions? Working in a city center, perfect is nohow related to any snow conditions, so, when over 60 cm of snow has covered the ground, and everything around us (in 36 hours of nonstop-full on mode) one must think of a perfect gear for these misfortunate and opposite of perfect winter conditions.

Usually the offer of snow boots is mostly hideous, but here, I think, practicality (and staying warm and dry) trumps the fashion factor. Although, I can say some listed below would be mine if only I could afford them. And the ultimate snow boot is a part of my daily dreaming.

After all this boot browsing, a separate post should be posted and on subject of cool and crazy, chic and fashionable, but totally snow-useless boots there are... I was amazed what could be found and lucky are all those girly who have the climate for those kinds of boots.

How are you dealing with winter and weather these days?

Pinterest inspiration, a DIY must

~ ~

Collage is made by me, photo is from pinterest: image credit

This tulle skit is amazing, and a definite DIY inspiration. It should be an easy experiment, and the result is more than promising.

Looks amazing, right?

I am totally mesmerized by this simple yet chic beyond words ensemble.

It was impossible to find the (real) source of this photo, meaning the author itself, so my only option was to credit the pinner. All the links I found led to tumblrs and blogs.
All I know that this photograph was taken at Paris fashion week.

If by any chance someone does know or finds out the origin, please do tell.

The perfect leopard scarf

~ ~
For quite some time I have been looking for a perfect leopard scarf. The kind that is not too long but not too short, is lush and rich and the ratio of spot-ness is just right, maybe I could go for too much rather than for the diluted pattern. Still, the scarf is not in my possession. I can say it is very hard to find the right one.

The biggest problem is that they all have some weird mix of colors and patterns, so at the end, that scarf is anything but leopard animal print, at all. And its bugging me like hell. For a while I was considering the possibility of online shopping, but, I would much rather prefer to see and feel it in person. The fabric itself is important too. I always consider the texture of the fabric and weaving, how it feels on my skin/around my neck, so, online shopping could be tricky that way.

But lets pretend for a minute or two that ordering online is a possibility. Contemplating on this amazing scarf I've seen miss Kira from Northeren Style Exposure that she wore on this occasion, I thought - this could be it! It has a perfect spot ratio, not to bright or to dark background, and no unnecessary color additions. The one she is wearing is Old navy, and since there is no such item in their online store at the moment, I've hit the Google, and my old friend Polyvore was kind enough to assemble them all in their spotty leo glory. Just for the sake of this little experiment I embarked on this choosing journey and here is what I would have (maybe) agreed too.

1. FWSS Leopard printed scarf
2. River Island Leopard Print Lightweight Scarf
3. Alexander McQueen Beige Leopard Skull Print Chiffon Scarf
4. Stella McCartney Animal Print Scarf
5. Dolce & Gabbana Leopard Scarf
6. Topshop (2011 collection)

Since my "favorite" would be scarves under numbers 5 and 6, I am in a bit of a pickle. D&G is to pricy for me, and Topshop one is long gone, not to mention that Old navy one from miss Kira. The search continues....

What is your stand on leopard scarves and do you have an suggestions maybe? I would like to hear from you.

p.s. leopard inspired pinterest board for you to get in the groove.
