May the fourth be with you // Vans X Star Wars

~ ~
May 4th is the "official" unofficial holiday created by fans of the famous movie series Star Wars. I am no "warior" but I kind of like all the fuss connected to the movies and sure, Sheldon played a significant part in remembering the phrase from the title.

With that in mind it seems appropriate to mention this collaboration - Vans x Star Wars.

Vans takes off to a galaxy far, far away for an out-of-this-world collection featuring characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. The Force is strong in this intergalactic offering of exclusive Vault by Vans footwear. By combining heritage Vans silhouettes with iconic Star Wars characters, both entities present a truly unique capsule this universe has not yet seen.

This is a a highly limited and coveted assortment of footwear under Vans’ premium label, Vault by Vans. With less than 300 pairs of each style produced, this Vault by Vans special assortment will be available exclusively at six retailers across the galaxy sometime in May.

Talking about Star Wars, do you remember the Rodarte collection from February?
I would totally pair these slip-ons from the last photo with Rodarte dress.

May the force be with you.

MMM x Converse collaboration

~ ~

"Converse Inc. announces its all-new collection with avant-garde French fashion house Maison Martin Margiela. The first-time Converse Maison Martin Margiela collaboration features the Chuck Taylor All Star and the Jack Purcell sneakers, each completely hand-painted in Maison Martin Margiela’s iconic white paint. Covering all canvas, eyelets, laces and soles, they naturally crack and shed their outer coat of paint to reveal the original colors beneath."

"The personality of the Converse Maison Martin Margiela 1970s Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell sneakers is discovered through an evolving dialogue between the bold colored canvas and clean paint. The more the sneakers are worn, the more their personality and color is revealed. “The Maison has always been obsessed with white; it is used as a layer to give an incognito feeling. A sort of poetry, with the passage of time, the shoe asserts itself,” says Maison Martin Margiela."

This is one of my favorite collaborations ever. And the fact I love chucks more than heels has everything to do with it. I love how they are just dipping the colored shoes not just producing "some" design. And how the "real" design comes over time as you wear the shoes. Amazing!

Coca-Cola X HUMAN MADE

~ ~

Although this is mans collection I love this retro Coke inspired vibe. I can imagine a guy sitting in some Route 66 r`n`r themed diner, chatting with a perky waitress, him looking fancy and chic in these rags.

Here is the story/Press release:

TOKYO, February 1, 2013 – Taking inspiration from vintage Coca-Cola vendor wear, Japanese designer NIGO®, is today unveiling a new line of menswear that reinterprets iconic work wear from the early 10th century. NIGO®, a famed street culture purveyor and former A Bathing Ape creator, is launching the collection with Japan’s most iconic boutique, Beams, under his newest label, Human Made – the successor to his highly sought after Ape collection.
The Coca-Cola x Human Made by Beams line is inspired by research that NIGO® has conducted around 20th century era industrial wear fashions, and reconstructs what “might have been” a look of the time in a modern day context. Uniquely, some pieces have taken on even more personal value for NIGO®, as the designer has pulled from his own bespoke collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia, reinterpreting some of these looks for his new line.
[...] Brushed and weathered treatments, plus stitching true to the 1900s era, will make for truly unique and authentic pieces.

[...] The collection will be available in Beams stores across Japan. Internationally, it will be available in-store and online at Present in the UK (present-london.com), Haven in Canada (havenshop.ca), RSVP Gallery in the US (rsvpagallery.com) as well as online at ZoZoTown.com and Beams.com.

ADLR x H&M

~ ~
Anna dello Russo is the newest collaborator with (our beloved) H&M. She will be designing a collection of accessories in (my favorite combination) gold and turquoise. What can we expect - lots of bling bling, extravagance and excess. And I am totally ready for that. Unfortunately, the collection is comming to stores in October, which is, in my opinion a bit too late, because what is the best time to go gold and than summer. But all in all I am looking forward to that.

Until then, we can get in to this whole ADLR groove with this video.

Converse X Missoni

~ ~
Although we are more used to see and adore designer collaborations with H&M, this is something different.
Collaboration between Converse and Missoni is something that I have to say I really really like. I am a true Chucks lover and had them from early ages. This spring collaboration did an amazing job. The pattern on these mint Chuck Taylors is to die for. A perfect spring mint combination, for casual (or maybe even more) moments in time.

Missoni signature zig-zag pattern is something new and fresh, just perfect for girly romantic pastel outfits. although we have all seen so many (great and amazing) patterns converse used as an inspiration for their Chucks, this one I like esspecially. It is pure amazing fresh delightful CHIC! And I was surprised to find out it is their 5th collaboration. Shame on me.

This limited editiond is (only) $ 200 per pair. So start daving your money. I think this would be a good investment for me if only my wedding wasn`t eating away all of my money. No matter the color, popular mint at the moment, Missoni, for me is an all time pattern, which can always give you a hint of chic. Even in sweats.

p.s. if you look a bit closer, maybe you will notice a little sparkle too ont he fabric :) even more chic, right?
